Nieuw Dakota is a platform for contemporary art located at the IJ river in Amsterdam-North. Nieuw Dakota organizes exhibitions and projects in collaboration with collectors, galleries, institutions and other leading players in the international art world. Nieuw Dakota aims to involve a larger public in the art world and to increase the public participation in contemporary art.
With its changing presentations of internatonal artists in collaboration with galleries, curators and other organizations, Nieuw Dakota intends to support, promote and increase the market for contemporary art in the Netherlands. The education program and special activities for its Pioniersclub play an important role. Another aspect of Nieuw Dakota’s projects is to present private collections. Herewith Nieuw Dakota shows the collector’s passion for collecting contemporary art, hoping this inspires more people. Nieuw Dakota is located at the NDSM-wharf, next to the free ferry to NDSM from Amsterdam Central Station. Free Entrance.
