Nieuw Dakota is a contemporary art exhibition space situated on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam. Its experimental program encompasses exhibitions, performances, tours, and educational activities designed to provoke thought among both artists and visitors, expanding their perspectives on the world.
Since early 2023, Nieuw Dakota has introduced an artistic initiative known as 1 x 2. Within this framework, a single theme is explored in two distinct and nearly opposing ways. The present theme revolves around 'romantic love,' showcased through the contrasting exhibitions Yes, I Do and It’s Not You, It’s Me. The former delves into the positive facets of successful love relationships, while the latter narrates the other side of the story, focusing on heartbreak and the challenges it presents.
